Version 3 looks much cooler, delicate parts are more secure, manual drive wheel is back, the whole thing is lighter, etc. Imagine my disappointment when he was scared because the high gear is "too fast".Ī year and a half later, he is braver, and I moc better.
The first version as included wasn't very well designed, but did pave the way for the two-speed gearbox in version 2. This is my first non-trivial moc, back when we purchased the WeDo set for my 4yrs old child. The inventory listed on Rebrickable is for all versions together each pdf has their own part list at the end. Do not shift both gears in place, or they will dead lock. You can add a grey technic bush between it and the motor to fix it in place, at cost of the ability to shift gear. The high gear may driff away on high power. Left hand users may mirror the decorative parts, such as the chains which mimics a bar antenna. On neutral gear, you can use a finger to turn the red flower handle to twirl the main rotor manually. The vehicle can be grabbed from the bottom, with fingers on the body / bottom and out of the way of the shaft. The above points hold true for version 3.
Sturdy Build - a gentle hand can pickup the whole vehicle by either rotor. Antennas, Navigation Lights, Wire Cutter, WeDo eyes etc. Two cool looking Engines and a working Winch. Main Rotor can be 1:1 (safe), 1:2 (fast), or neutral. Body Length 30cm, Blade ⌀27cm, Total Length 36cm. Relatively big and sturdy, The main rotor has a two-speeds gearbox plus neutral.
